kindness To you, it may look like a simple sausage taco with mustard wrapped in a paper towel. To me, it is a bit of kindness. I was strolling down Super South Congress on First Thursday (06 Mar 06) and wound up at Ben White Florist to listen to a band playing out front. (Johnny Cash's "Walk the Line"!! I knew that I was in the right place.) I sat on one of the tree stumps in the front yard and a lady asked me if I wanted a sausage wrap. I said "Sure!" and she proceeded to prepare me one. Gratis. Out of the kindness of her heart. As First Thursday grows further south down South Congress, I hope that the spirit of the beginnings of First Thursday stay strong. Long live South Austin!! Highlight of the Day: Improv (Maestro & Comedy Sportz) Today was amazing. After a morning and early afternoon spent in the best company I could hope for there were two improv shows to watch. I shared a table with this little boy who gave the suggestion of "Blood!" and watched Scott try to kill Les in a leg lock while he dangled from the ceiling. Then we shuttled over to the Hideout for Maestro where everyone was dressed all spiffy for the prom theme. GREAT SHOW. A calculus teacher kidnapped a student, Noah brought his drunk principal home with him, a Florist found out that he turned a girl into a guy on prom night, and there as a healthy sermon about the evils of prom to tie it all together.
